A Blues forward : )

Post by paults » Wed Oct 24, 2007 10:57 pm

The blues make me happy? I got a forward for this listing:The Producer of an Independent Horror Film (w/ distribution) needs a BLUES SONG (with lyrics) a la "BLUES BEFORE SUNRISE" by ERIC CLAPTON (from his 1994 release "From The Cradle"). He needs a song similar in style, tempo, and lyrical theme. The film is about a bunch of college kids who view a midnight showing of a horror flick where the killer in the movie comes to life and attacks the theater patrons. This song is for the entrance of the "tough biker guy," so he needs an appropriate Blues tune for a big, tough biker who becomes a hero/good guy in the film. Great performances are essential (this is for a "feature use"). Male vocals only. They're offering a license fee of about $500 per cue, depending on usage. Broadcast quality needed. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. Submissions must be received no later than Oct. 16, 2007. Thanks folks! I guess this Rocker can play slow, too. This was a very pleasant surprise, as I didn't consider the track "done" when uploaded it. That was a scratch vocal, and I've added piano. I've got to remember to do daily uploads during that "between the listing deadline and the screening" period if something else gets sent in right at the deadline. No complaints, though- close enough for a forward : )

Thanks to both of you, too! It was a lot of fun to do that slide stuff. I almost never play slide, especially in an open tuning. This listing was one of those that nudged me to do something different.Judging from this result, I think I'll write some more
