Anyone going for the songs about states?
I guess this might not be the right place to ask, but just curious since it looks like it could be a pretty big placement (during the world series!). I just finished a song called "Colorado (Let's Rock Tonight)" for it, and if you guys wouldn't mind checking it out before I turn it I'd appreciate it! It's on my page at taxi.com/dandiaz.Thanks!Dan

I don't mind telling ya. I have this tune a buddy & I wrote a coupla months ago. If there's enough time to re-record vocals, we'll include the listing's lyric concepts. It's definitely a nice ... opportunity. steve We Win Quote:I guess this might not be the right place to ask, but just curious since it looks like it could be a pretty big placement (during the world series!). Perhaps the mod will move it there when they get a chance.Listened to the song, sounds very Colorado with the imagery you present. There's good instrumentation and think the song itself is fine, it's the presentation that might be a problem. I might nudge the vocals up just a tick, as they are muffled, especially in the bridge, where the mix sounds particularly muddy with competing vocal lines. There's also a spot where the vocals seem a little faltering or pitchy (1st time-time of year). In addition, I want to comment on "cheer for" . If you redo the vocals, try singing the "for" without dropping the vowel shape, your diction makes us lose the emphasis, and in the song it's the last word of an important phrase - Pat Pattison would call that the Power Position - and yet it's gramatically not that important. So in that case, the singer needs to use their diction/articulation to bring the word out - by clearly holding the lips in the shape of an "oh" to retain quality in the tone. It's an added challenge because the melody is going down.It would be nice to see the lyrics, because I would argue the line would be stronger if you didn't say, for example, 'Colorado is something to cheer for' but said, 'Colorado Rocks!'The song has a mellow soft rock feel that kinda belies the title. I would have expected something more uptempo. I think, that screener might say that there should be more contrast between the verse and chorus. In any case, if you plan to submit as it, it's good work but I think you could tweak the mix more, bring the vocals more forward & see if that helps the song live more. hope that helps, cheersHummin'bird
