Anyone else submit anything and/or get forwarded for that recent dispatch listing? I wrote a song that I thought was particularly cool called "Hello Anxious" for it and just found out it was returned. Was just wondering if you guys would take a listen and let me know your thoughts on why it may not have made the grade. You can find it at taxi.com/dandiaz. I'm wondering if maybe it was too modern sounding? Maybe I didn't nail the glam flavor quite well enough? I dunno! Also, I'm new on this forum and a month into my first month with Taxi, so hello everyone! I'm sure I'll be posting a lot more on here. Thanks,Dan Diaz

Re: Cool, Edgy Rock Songs with a good dose of glam
Hi Dan,Well, I'm not exactly an expert on Glam (and I didn't submit to the listing in question), but I did listen to your song and I thought it was pretty cool. One thing that struck me right away, though, is that (IMO) the vocal was too low in the mix. I missed a lot of the words because of it. I thought the mix was quite good, otherwise. Whether or not this had anything to do with it's being returned, only the screener knows (did you get a critique with the return?).It occurs to me that one other possible reason for the return might be the somewhat negative tone of the lyric (though they did ask for "edgy" - go figure). It sounds like this was a song listing, though it's not clear whether they intended to re-record or not. It would be informative to see the actual listing in full.I particularly like the way you mixed the drums & guitars, but I found myself wanting more from the vocal (especially in the chorus). Maybe add some harmony and/or doubling there? I also think the song could benefit from a little more melodic contrast between the verse & chorus.I listened to some of your other songs, too, and you've done some nice work there (I particularly enjoyed "Jenny Jenny")!Welcome to TAXI!
