First, I have to say that hindsight is wonderful. I still think this would have been a good forward but now that the rhythm of the track has been brought up: it could be that the slightly unorthodox rhythm could make the track harder to sync to film.Aub- let us know how the phone call goes.JD- If you say you regularly listen to bands/songs like this "a la" then well... your opinion is what it is- an educated opinion. If you don't usually listen to this type of material (many of us are more classic rockers), you may not have been fair. It comes down to whether or not this would make a good replacement track for the Bloc Party track... Not more than that... Casey

You know those two old guys in the theater balcony from the Muppet show --- I take you about that seriously-- and you're not nearly as clever Aub

Here's the funny thing about the feedback on this one--- so far "songwriters" notice the 7/4 -- non songwriters seem to just like the song... We wrestled with adding tambo to give the beat some emphasis, and we might address that at some point... Also there is a whole lot of odd meter stuff in this and similar genres out there. Thanks for all the encouragement... suggestions... pm's. Bottom line, this song will find a home. I just would like to know what the killer was for this listing. The thing that is frustrating, is these dispatch listings are so tight deadline wise and so specific, and it's not like we're just pulling songs from our collection--- although I'm not always the best judge of my own material, I think this is good enough that the client deserves to hear it. Still though, it ain't the end of the world. It was only 5 bucks and 3 sleepless nights invested And in the words of one of my favorite 7/4 songs... "All you need is love..."Aub

Loved your chord progressions and the timing but would have to agree that it sort of lurched a bit until the groove was established. Who knows with these dispatch listings? We don't have a screener, no review, no way of knowing why they forwarded or rejected us. Maybe they were irritated the vox mix wasn't up or something. Maybe the guy didn't take his meds or burned his tongue on this coffee while he was listening to your song and took it out on you. There's definitely a human element at work here beyond our control. Plus, you were trying to do two things at once.....make it work for your project and for theirs. That's a lot to accomplish in a creative field. Still, you should've gotten that forward. That's jes mho, though. I woulda pulled that vox up. I think it would've help settle the groove a little. But hey, you know what reviews are like.....lol. Not worth the coffee grounds, lol.

Well- I'm not crazy. How many times have I said if you don't like the results of a listing, or don't understand a critique -- pick up the phone. Today I did. First time. No sour grapes, I just felt like this song was strong for this listing and wanted some clarity to help succeed in the future.Well the screener just called me personally and apologized. Said he made a mistake, had some very good comments about the song, and let me know the song IS being forwarded. Made my day.Aub
