Quote:Thanks Screener 255 for the foward and your very kind words...they were greatly appreciated. I got a foward to a Nashville listing, listing S070720CO. In summary, it was a listing for a West Coast Publishing Company that is seeking Neo-Traditional country songs to pitch to Nashville artists such as Brad Paisely, Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins. I was blown away when I got this foward today. I never expected it, but thanks so much for fowarding New Girl In New York City. http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.p ... id=2572WOW! I've gotten to know you through your posts and I've always secretly suspected that your music was very good but I've never heard anything until now. I'll enthusiastically ditto all the accolades from the others. I've been busy and away from the boards for a little bit so I just caught this tonight... and I'm glad I did. I'll talk more about this in an upcoming "Taxi Land" post but based on what I listened to on my Taxi Land trip, the forum members by far and away are at the top of the talent pool. Dave

Thanks, Horace....yeah, I was praying for a little bit of rain, and I got it. Dave, you've always been so helpful answering questions for me, and your posts have always encouraged me to keep working. I'm so glad that you and Horace are giving us these great posts about TAXI and their screening process. Those posts have contributed to me having a little attitude adjustment, hehe. Aww, Dana, your music is great....we should hear some of you stuff.

ChitsJust listened to the track. What an absolute belter of a song. Great, great track. And I know nothing about country. One small thing - the line in verse 2 that goes the country guy is so happy with his life, he's got this and that and a 'job down at the factory'. For me (sorry) that line let's down the whole song. I never met a guy who loved working in a factory. Can you make him farmer or something?Terrific song. I urge all lurkers here to check it out Liam

Thanks Brennan and Squid for all your nice words. Liam, yeah, maybe that factory line is something to think about....maybe a rewrite could make him a 'farmer.' Anyway, all y'alls thoughts are appreciated.

So pleased to hear that you got a forward for this song. My feeling after a few listens was, "well if this don't, nuthin will" Best of luck with getting loads of sucess with it.
It's a fine line between a thick soup and stew.
