Quote:Quote:Another thing to remember is that in song lyrics, (often) less is more. I would trim it down to shorter verses and especially a shorter chorus. You want to get to the key hook lines and make them repeat in the listener's head.... don't make them wait too much...Also, I have used other people's lyrics to write music, but in my case, I usually use the general ideas and edited phrases and change as needed to fit to a tune. The song "Adrenaline" was born out of that. gonecountry: Feel free to contact me any time. I can't promise I'll have an idea for your song, but I am always available to chat. My email address is on my caseysongs website. And Johnny... pttttttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhh! Go take a Prozac anc chill...Regards,CaseyCase,I have taken the Prozac but it doesn't seem to be working.Meanwhile Jefferry this is the best Lyric Writing advice you are ever going to get.Buy a cheap but playable nylon or steel strung guitar.Learn to play basic chords. This should take you no more than six months.Take some singing lessons. This could and should coincide with your guitar learning.Eventually you will learn to sing and play at the same time,as a rule most singer/musicians are experienced enough to prioritize there singing and the instrument goes on auto pilot. When you have done this you will have gained a certain amount of musical knowledge which will be invaluable to your lyric writing. The problem with my advice is it requires commitment of both time and money and the majority of lyric writers I have known are not prepared to give either.JDouble the dose.

Six month later he'll be the same lame ass lyricist, except additionally he will also be a lame ass guitar player and a lame ass singer, and god knows the world needs more of those... I think it is this type of condescending attitude towards the craft of lyric writing, by people who don't wanna face the fact that they were only meant to be singers or producers or composers, that is responsible for most of the crappy lyrics we hear on the radio. Now WHO needs a Prozac... matto

I read your lyrics and I think they are really good and smartly written. You just need a great tune to carry them, but I guess thats where your experience in a band comes in handy. I'm no songsmith by any means, but I thought no matter where it comes from, positive feedback is always appreciated.Good Luck with everything!!!
