Up On A Mountain

Post by lwj001 » Thu Sep 14, 2006 10:12 pm

Up On A Mountain (Larry W. Jones 09/15/2006) (song#4012)Up on a mountain overlooking the townI can see down where the bright lights burnYou're looking pretty in your wedding gownAnd you think it shouldn't be my concernUp on a mountain my heart is cryingThis could have been our wedding dayUp on a mountain my heart is dyingWhy, oh why did I let you slip awayHow could you fall for his lines so smoothHow could you go and say, I doThere's no way that mere words can sootheMy broken heart that cries over youUp on a mountain my heart is cryingThis could have been our wedding dayUp on a mountain my heart is dyingWhy, oh why did I let you slip awayUp on a mountain my heart is cryingThis could have been our wedding dayUp on a mountain my heart is dyingWhy, oh why did I let you slip away

LWJ:I think you'd be more likely to get response if you posted 1-2 songs and waited a while. What you have now comes off like SPAM and will probably be ignored. Suggestion: Delete all but 1 and ask for feedback if that's what you are looking for.RegardsCasey

Greetings Hurowitz. Your advice is gratiously taken. No SPAM intended. We need somewhere on TAXI where everyone can post ALL their songs, as I have previously done with 4,000 + of my Island Song Lyrics on Tropical StormHawaii, http://www.tropicalstormhawaii.com/cgi- ... c=psAnyway, I will desist from posting so many, even if it breaks my already broken heart. Cowboy UP!

Quote:We need somewhere on TAXI where everyone can post ALL their songsHi Larry, please don't take this the wrong way, but what exactly would the point of this be? Isn't that better accomplished on an artist's personal website?I think this site is more for people who want feedback, are looking for collaborators, etc. For those purposes it's best to just post a small selection of your very best material.matto

Howdy Matto. You are correct. This site does not provide the space, which is unfortunate. A "database" of posted songs like TropicalStormHawaii allows exposure to all the songs a person has written. I have almost maxed out my personal web space on geocities. I'll stuff 'em somewhere and only post a few here once in a while.

A prospective co-writer, publisher or client doesn't need to see your entire catalog to know if they are interested...

Actually, I've received communications from many people in the Hawaiian music community just from their browsing of the posted songs on TropicalStormHawaii. It's a valuable source that I have benefitted from. Some have emailed to say that they just enjoy reading the lyrics.
