But the Wind Knew BetterShe was sittin’ with her sister, by the Dairy QueenThey came roarin’ into town, loud n fast n meanShe stared at the leader, the leather, chrome and steelAngel wings on his jacket, said he was hell on wheelsWhen he pulled up at the curb, and put down his kickstandShe sank into his eyes, like a doe in quicksandHopped on his big Harley, cool breeze in her braidsYelled to her kid sister, she’d be home by eightBut the wind knew better, saw right through her actIt’s been ‘neath ev’ry door, snuck through ev’ry crackIt knows a woman’s lyin’, when she says she’ll be backIt’s part of the air we breathe, so she lied through her teethBut the wind knew betterHe took her to a roadhouse, where wild hearts go to hideShe chased his whiskey kisses, by swallowin’ her prideHe dropped her off at sunrise, sin hangin’ in the airShe told her mom and sister, she’d been at the county fairBut the wind knew better, saw right through her actIt’s been ‘neath ev’ry door, snuck through ev’ry crackIt’s heard ev’ry lie, both white and blackIt’s part of the air we breathe, so she lied through her teethBut the wind knew betterWhen that biker came back, her mom got a twenty gaugeSaid he shouldn’t be-a-sniffin’, ‘round a gal her ageHer daughter blew him a kiss, as he rode around the bendThen swore to her mama, she wouldn’t follow himBut the wind knew better, saw right through her actIt’s been ‘neath ev’ry door, snuck through ev’ry crackIt’s heard ev’ry lie, both white and blackIt’s part of the air we breathe, so she lied through her teethBut the wind knew better©2007 Robert George

I'm constantly amazed at the sheer volume of unique descriptions that grace your pen... day after day after day...Just wanted you to know that you have fans who never say it Aub

But I have to say, his 2007 catalog is revealing a progression from very good, to masterful. These lyrics read like screen plays and I feel we are witnessing something special evolving here. I have a vision for a project where these lyrics are orchestrated by a collab of some of our film/tv pros, produced by Aub, and sung by three or four of us in a dialog manner; and it all goes on a new genre creating tour...something like a novella rock opera.
