Question about getting forwarded.

Post by marcblack30 » Wed Aug 01, 2007 7:25 am

First, I just want to say that it took me about 3 years to finally join TAXI, and I was very pleased to hear that three of my songs got forwarded on my first submission! I know it's a long road but it feels great to be off to a good start. My question is, when a song gets forwarded, does it automatically go into a music library or do you have to wait to hear from the company that they have accepted it into their library?thanks,Marc

Hey Marc,Congrats on the forward, unfortunately you are only half way there. Basically TAXI has sent songs they think fit the listing that the library was looking for. Now it's up to the library to decide if they will be using your songs (which will require you to sign a contract, usually). Now for the bad news, the quickest you will here from a library is still months away, and there are people here who heard from the library over a year later. And if they are not interested, there is a good chance that you will not here from them at all, as opposed to getting some kind of email.Good Luck and welcome to TAXI.Rob

Congrats!!Which opp, might I ask?And while I'm asking...does TAXI post the forwards for particular opps anywhere, so we could see the artists and even hear the songs that are getting forwarded?Or do we just read about folks when they give their shout out here in the boards?Sevsevenharkey.commyspace.com/sevenharkey

the three songs were "one more day" my website"walk away" myspace"straight to your heart" myspaceS070614SSA wide range of SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS are sought by a West Coast-based Management Co. (they rep. a current platinum-selling Rock group) that is starting a new Publishing division. They're open to styles from Carole King/James Taylor to KT Tunstall/Ray LaMontagne. They plan to pitch songs to film & TV projects and will offer both exclusive and non-exclusive deals. No instrumentals. Great vocal and instrumental performances are essential. Broadcast quality needed (excellent-sounding home recordings are OK). Please submit one to three songs per CD/online, include lyrics/photo/bio. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than June 14, 2007. TAXI # S070614SSI'm pretty sure they don't post the forwards, I think the boards are the only way to hear about songs being forwarded.
