4 forwards today!

Post by billg » Fri Jun 29, 2007 5:29 pm

I received four forwards today & one last week all for listings for 60's songs. I guess sometimes being an old dude can work for you! Too bad I can't count on there being listings like that on a regular basis . . .

Seriously, congrats on the forwards, that's great. I guess we should say, "That's really groovy". Dave

Far out Bill! Shoot us a link to the cuts. I've been getting some forwards on this rockabilly beach 60's tribute song:http://www.paintriver.com/allprpwebmp3/ ... ay.mp3It's kinda' like Louie Louie tucked inside Summertime Blues, dunked in a caramel macchiato best,bc

Congrats! As a guy who has a lot of 60's sounding tracks, I can really appreciate this even more! I've said this a few times here. Film/TV opens up a lot of opportunities for songs that used to be cast off as "dated". There are often calls for replacement tracks that sound like they come from another decade. Good luck!!! I hope the forwards lead to "the call"... Casey

Here's a link to the 60's forwards. Midnight Train was forwarded twice (once for a rockabilly listing) and I pulled the lyrics from "Outtasite" and submitted it as "Live From The Purple Onion" and it was forwarded for an instrumental dispatch listing. The instrumental was one of those where the listing party did the screening. I also had a cover of "Into The Mystic" forwarded the week before. That's a total of 6 forwards in the past couple of weeks whereas up to that point I only had nine for the entire year. I guess those troublesome flashbacks can be of some use!Midnight Trainhttp://www.broadjam.com/transmit/transmi....62 ... q=1Thinkin' Bout Youhttp://www.broadjam.com/transmit/transmi....49 ... ndsq=1Live From The Purple Onionhttp://www.broadjam.com/transmit/transmi....4043&yhgbndsq=1

Just took a listen Bill, killer roadhouse blues rock IMO. I think the production probably has something to do with the 60's impression -- especially the hot vocal delivery, which I really dug, dig? bc

Thanks bc -The screeners (there were two for midnight train) both had a lot of positive things to say about the vocals. Made me feel pretty good. Hell, ragged as it is it's still the only voice I have! it's not like switching guitars or basses to get a different sound, you know, it either works or doesn't. I guess for these it worked (at least for a couple of people!) -Thanks again -billg
