Re: ONOFFON
Sorry Nomi - as nice as I'm sure your legs are, they really don't have a place in my dad's story... On the other hand, my mom's will be seen when my dad met her back in 1950, when she was a model and receptionist for KHJ. She was quite the looker - I have a picture of her with Jack Bailey, the host from the Queen For A Day show.Oh yeah - did I mention that her step father, my grand father, was a two-time Academy Award nominated A.C.E. film editor for Universal Studios? His name was Russell Schoengarth and he has a page at the IMDB with more than 130 films to his credit. And he also used to be a cellist with the Burbank Symphony...I have a rich history in the entertainment industry...

Von, all you need now is a Beverly Hills mansion... we can throw some good parties there.I can't wait.Nomi, I'd make a good agent for you, I'm the one who told Von to put pretty ladies on his album cover, which he did.Of course he had that done before my suggestion but still, I was right.
It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere

That being said, I've always wanted to give my family a nice house - isn't that the original 'American dream'? Either way, I've never been one to be against a good party now and then... BTW - the ladies on the artwork on our cover and inside in the Galerie d'ONOFFON was brilliant marketing strategy. I think it accounts for about 48 of the 55 CDs we've sold...

Just for the heck of it - here's an actual ONOFFON SSP of the Day -I found this post on a BB that I didn't even know was still out there - I was getting hit pretty hard by some young miscreants and someone came to our defense - Sallee Joined: 10 Dec 2002 Posts: 193 Location: Australia/Asia "Your Music Hi Von, I've seen you around another message board, but never got a chance to listen to your music, and now I have listened to a few tunes, I'm really glad I did. I think everyone here should realize that, if this is a music discussion board, it would be wise to acknowlege musicians who are at a very advanced level at their craft...(that is of MUSIC MAKING) than anyone else I've heard here so far. It would take a long long time, years and years and hours and hours every day for the members of this band to develop the skills they have on their instruments, and their general knowlege of music, I think this needs to be understood and respected by the people who wouldn't know or understand that. It wouldn't hurt to stretch our minds a little to at least try and understand a little more about the topic being discussed here: which is "Music," rather than just saying you don't like this "type of music." Whether you "like it" or not, this is the most advanced level of musicality in anyones' music I have heard here so far. I think everyone here should treat these guys with a lot of respect, and if you don't understand this music, and don't like it, rather than feeling compelled to say so, why not try and open your minds a little to appreciate it. It won't hurt." Most artists, including the biggest names out there, have people that either HATE their music or LOVE their music. The most important thing in art is to represent passion from its creators and inspire passion from its beholders. Thanks to Sallee for sharing her passion and inspiration for our music....

Re: ONOFFON
I took another step forward yesterday... I sent off my first four proposals to the first four foundations. I have many more to send - I just thought it significant to get started yesterday since I turned 51. Yep - me and Queen Mother share the same birthday. As a matter of fact, my brother and I share the Queen Mother's birthday and we're NOT twins. Same birthday - four years apart - pretty cool, eh? It seems a new chapter to my life is being written and I wanted it to begin on an important date in my life. Each step forward will be a milestone - and I will chronicle them here. This is reality...

Thanks Dave!!!I sent out 14 more proposals today - researched another dozen or so to follow up with.I spoke to a representative from the Playboy Foundation today - she said that I might actually get to interview Mr. Hefner for my movie... also the gentleman who runs the Playboy Jazz Festival... I'm to contact her once I get up and running... Step by step... inch by inch...

Re: ONOFFON
Well... I'm up to 68 sent LOI's and I've received my first three rejections... I'll be sending out another eleven LOI's today...But, here's a little diversion from my work...I accidentally found this BB that linked from a Google search for my name. It's on a board called 'Holidays, World events, etc. 2006' - a person that calls herself Dragonlady posts everyday 'Famous People Born On This Day In History' - I almost fell off my chair...Holidays, World events, etc. 2006http://www.kenzerco.com/forums/showpost.....7& ... t=215April 21st:Famous People Born On This Day In History...1955- Von Babasin of OnOffOn.1838- John Muir, naturalist.1916- Anthony Quinn, actor.1926- Queen Elizabeth II of Britain.1947- Iggy Pop's.How cool is that?!?!?!?! I would have to say I am the most unknown 'famous' person on that list... Okay... back to work and the real world....
