I was told that my links (how many times do I have to say this?), tho *.m3u's and links to outside sites with flash players (negating the use of links directly to songs and therefore to song or band pages), was prohibited by forum rules as advertising. so, I'm singled out as a spammer while anyone else can post outside websites all willy nilly dancing silly .... I just want some official word (and sorry ann, I'm guessing you're not it) that it's ok for me to post my music here. simple stuff really ... and I will bounce this thread day after day after day ... it must be killing those "last 100 post" people ... ouch.

dave, thanks for addressing this ... Quote:It's not as dramatic but why don't you simply call/email Taxi or Jimi for clarification? but .... according to "THE RULES" ... http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... ecifically, number 7 ..."7. If your posted message is either edited or removed, please read the message board rules, rather than contact the administrator or moderators to find out why your post has been edited or removed. Only messages that break the rules will be edited or removed, and the administrator's and moderators' time is better spent listening to music, or picking their noses than debating the legitimacy of posts, edits, removals, or the rules." sooooo - what with me trying like hell to walk these fine lines, instead I choose to do it this way, cus there's nothing in the rules about it being against the moral or legal code to be a squeaky wheel. I mean, come on, when I first showed up here, it only took a few of my posts for some of the existing forum membership to "do something" about what they deemed to be potential problems in the neighborhood. I figure, what the hell, why not use that to my advantage?all I'm asking for is clarification of why others can do what I've been specifically told not to do. I want to know where the line between spam and self promotion is. I still have a copy of the original post I put in here if you wanna judge for yourself. tho somehow I doubt you care as much as would just like to see this thread not come up every time I think about it. once I know that - I can judge whether to say the rule doesn't apply to me or it does. cus that's how I see everyone else handling it, but if I just post those same links again, I'm blatantly disregarding direct actions of the taxi forum administration. wouldn't want that now would we?and hummingbird ....Quote:As a TAXI member, you are free to call TAXI and talk to customer service, or PM Jimi and ask her for clarification.same answer. plus - sorry, a call to TAXI from the UK is not free. I prefer email. I do all my USA business by email. if jimi will take a collect call from the UK, no problem ... but a simple "yes, cj, post your damn links and STHU" will suffice. from her.incidentally, I am a TAXI forum member, not a taxi member. the reasons I'm here were posted in that deleted thread.thanks for your time guys, have a real nice evening.cj

Email TAXI customer service, or PM/email Jimi. TAXI hosts the forum for TAXI members, and it's TAXI and its employees who can give you the official word. In other words, if you want clarification on something Jimi told you, then seems to me it's Jimi/TAXI you need to contact...

I got the email is free things kids, guess the rumors about the gov't and/or post office charging us a nickle for 'em weren't true then eh?thanks, that's a load off ... on the udder tang ... well .... I'm pretty sure she saw my objection in our first exchange of 5 emails ... she didn't actually address the issue, just a lot more concerned with me cleaning up my oh-so-terrible acts of defense cus I wasn't the cats meow 'round 'ere.is there some rule I don't know about that I'm breaking now by continuing to bring this up here in the forum where the standards are the question? I've heard what you've said, I've explained my position and well, here we are ... and again, rule 7 of the "rules" tells me to refrain from PMing and emailing. doesn't it? I figure, one way or the other, she reads this and clarifies not only for me, but for others who may have experienced this scenario before and possibly after me.sorry to be a fly in the ointment to ya'll ... I just don't think it's in the best interest of my forum longevity here to either just do as I please or break a clear cut rule that was pointed out to me by the person you want me to email when she's clearly set up guidelines regarding what you are advising me to do.but do have a nice night.

If you aren't willing to contact her for clarification, then there's nothing any other forum members can do to help... and, like you say, you'll have to live with the guidelines she set.

Quote:There's no rule against asking the same question over and over, good, cus that is my intention. thanks for clarifying that.Quote: the point is, other forum members can't answer you.accepted. but then again, when I see the term "admin" or similar, to me that means they actually administer the forum. ie - read it. and because I would guess she doesn't do that every day, to float my query isn't a bad choice. of course, I understand this isn't a big deal to you, nor her ... but I'm not alone in floating this to the top 100 am I? Quote:If you aren't willing to contact her for clarification, then there's nothing any other forum members can do to help... well, I have an email that states that some other forum members did in fact catch her ear about another matter recently ... if they choose not to in this situation so be it but that's not on me. Quote:and, like you say, you'll have to live with the guidelines she set.and that's exactly what I'm doing. and because, thus far, no one has shown me that my squeaky wheel routine is breaking any rules besides the unwritten one that makes life all flowers and perfumy panties for the 100 last post people easy, I'll safely assume that as I said - here we are.had I mentioned that I want you to have a really good night? I did - but hey, I'll do it again. have a good'n. thanks for your help.
