Need a professional guitar track for your song?

Post by gitarrero » Wed Oct 10, 2007 10:54 pm

Hi,I’m offering my service to record guitars for your song online. I’m a guitarist & producer, I’m running my own studio and have a large selection of guitars and stringed instruments (including exotic instruments such as a greek bouzouki). I’ve been working for the following companies, to name a few:MTV USA (music in various series such as “Pimp my Ride”, “Next”, “Denied”, etc); Record Labels such as Sony/BMG, K-tel, Edel Rec.; music in feature films and documentary in Switzerland and the US; guitar track recording for various bands and artists. Here’s my site: http://www.martytone.comYou can find listening examples, my references and more infos about me and my musical work.Do you need a guitar track (or several tracks) for your song and you don’t want to go through the time-consuming hassle of booking an external studio, hire an engineer plus a guitar player? Here’s how it works: 1. I get your track (mostly MP3 or WAV-Files) delivered by e-mail, ftp-transfer (I run my own ftp server) or via YouSendIt.com on top of which I record my overdubs. I'll go over your project and discuss session details with you via email, phone or live-chat. Shall I play the solo with an acoustic guitar? Shall I double the electric guitar? You can also suggest a record as reference whose sound or arrangement you particularly like. 2. Once we’re on the same page you pay the session fee (detailed pricelist see below) and I’ll record my overdubbs.3. I’ll post a Rough-Mix on the ftp site and/or e-mail it to you. You give me some feedback on the tracks I recorded. I rerecord my tracks if needed.4. I send you my clean instrumental tracks either by e-mail, by ftp-transfer or as a CDR by normal mail. Of course, the data format is totally open.Do you want me to produce a full backing track including all instruments (drums, bass, keyboards, loops, icluding the mix with your own vocals or a session singer)? That’s also possible. The process is basically the same as described above.Pricelist:Guitar recordings:“simple” package: $ 99Includes up to 2 recorded tracks of fills, solo and/or rhythm guitar“middle” package: $ 150Includes up to 4 recorded tracks (including doubled tracks).“advanced” package: $ 180Includes up to 6 recorded tracks (including doubled tracks).“custom” package: upon requestThe custom package is built for special needs such as a full, complex arrangement of 10 stacked guitars, for example. Please tell me your exact needs and I’ll suggest a price. Modifications in the recorded tracks: the first modification is free, additionals are $25 each.*Complete music production of your song*Please contact me so we can discuss your exact needs for your project. This can start with a simple backing track, I can help you to mix your own song/production or give you my experience in single steps of the working process (e.g. correcting the intonation of vocallines). It may continue to a full master-production.For your reference, here’s a list of my instruments and recording equipment:http://www.martytone.com > studioIf you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact me. I’d be happy to help and be part of your project. My email: info (at) martytone.com (please replace “(at)” with a @ . this procedure is necessarry to save my email-account from spam).Martin Haenehttp://www.martytone.com

Martin, you are amazing. But what happens when you've got 300 TAXI members waiting in line for some touch of the Martin-Magic and you have no more time to produce your own stuff?I'll tell you what happens...some of us get a chance to try and catch up to your amazing successes. (Notice I said "TRY"... )One more chapter in the Martin Chronicles... And this one ought to keep you busy.

Hi Martin,What a great offer, and what a super great bargain! I'm not working on the next album just yet, but I'm already dreaming it up in detail here-- it would be great fun to have you work on one of my tracks (one of the shorter ones, that is!). Ack, this is so exciting, now I'm itching to get rolling on that next release!! Darn it! I've got some things to do before I'm in the studio again full time!! I know you'll probably be booking three years in advance by the time I contact you. So save me a slot. Raags

My brief was as follows: I had a straightforward four chord trick that I wanted to rerecord with a female singer. I'd noticed quite a few listings for pop rock tunes for female singers (in fact more than for male singers) and wondered if I could get into libraries (and maybe even artist pitches) from a female perspective. I wanted the mix to be in the vein of Natalie Imbruglia, Pink's rock stuff and Kelly Clarkson -basically contemporary - in as far as the song would allow. He obviously couldn't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!I supplied him with an original MP3, the chord progressions (which had to be transposed) and tempo and a new lyric sheet (required because the sex had changed). He outsourced the drums and vocals and rerecorded everything else himself. We had a fairly short preproduction where he continually emailed clips as he mapped out various sections and instruments and, of course, always asked for feedback.I had a few points about the final mix which he took in and was gracious enough to remixThe whole process was painless (from my point of view!) and the results excellent IMHO. Amazing what a guy in an apartment in Switzerland can do!If you're looking for this kind of help, I can't recommend Martin enough. Don't be put off by geography. He's intensely focused and a consummate professional. For those who are interested, the rerecording is here http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueAnd the lyrics are (if anyone cares):Rescue Me Often when I wake up and I think of you,Somehow I still feel so alone. And late at night your words now slip past me,They just echo in this home.Come on love, rescue me.I’ve been waiting patiently. It’s my turn now, it’s plain to see,So come on love, rescue me.You could drive soft-top down,It don’t impress me no more. You could kiss the sky’s cheek,It doesn’t move me,Now that all your half-truths and half-lies,Have just become a bridge of sighs. You’ve got your fingers crossed behind your back, I think you still don’t see,That you’re walking on a tightrope if you think you’re fooling me.I won’t bend and I won’t give, I’m praying secretly…. If you had the weather at its knees, stars at your feet,The world and all that’s free.I could take it all in, give it all away,For God’s sake love….Not really looking for comments on the song... it's Martin's thread after all but if you feel moved to comment on the rerecord/mix, go ahead BTW, the (great IMO) singer is Mini Carlsson in LA.Liam

Hey boys - great song, very well done! I like to take this thread as an opportunity to blow into the same horn and recommend Martin's services as well.A while ago one of his instrumentals inspired me to come up with a vocal melody. After adding chorus and bridge part on my side he completed the backing-track and sent me the multi-tracks. Vocal recordings, mix and some minor changes on the arrangement have taken place at my studio. Though this was basically a co-write than a job for hire, I've been very satisfied with his contribution and the way he handled our cooperation. Here's the song: http://www.co-writer.de/showroom/CARRY_ ... mp3Wishing you all a great weekend,Andy
