Mastering of Tracks

Post by karlvin » Thu Mar 08, 2007 7:53 am

Hi all , I'm starting a track mastering busines and I am looking for anybody who's interested in getting their track mastered for FREE.yep FREE ! What's in it for me ? I get to build up my portfolio. that's all. If you like the master I'd ask that you let me list you as an artist I've mastered. I'm based in Ireland but can work on mp3's (must be CD quality or greater) or will take CDs in post. 1 track per artist. Can't guarantee overnight success but heh what have you to loose it's free So if you're interested send us an email (for postal address) or mp3 to mastering@k2sounds.com many thanks for reading. Kv.

hi kalrvin,...uuuhm I don't want to sound instructing, but to offer a mastering service where the client send in an mp3 & you do the master with it is quite....hmmm... I'd say unprofessional.the chain would look like this: artist converts his/her wav file to mp3 - you decode this mp3 to wav & master it - you code it again to mp3 in order to send it back to the client. believe me, that will be noticeable in the frequency-picture...why not offering an ftp upload as wav 24/44.1?just a thought, it's your business.cheers, martin

http://www.proaudiobus.com/This company specializes in audio FTP service. The basic service is about 10.00 US per month. Haven't used them but IMO you really want to deal with CD quailty or better for mastering and FTP transfer is the way to do it on a global basis. Here's a quote from their website:"ProAudioBus.com has accomplished what so many others have failed to do -- create a place for musicians from all over the world to EASILY collaborate online. THIS changes everything!" Michael Laskow, CEO TAXI Thanks for making your generous offer. Good luck.Mazz

Just another option, theres a website called http://yousendit.com that will allow you to upload up to 1 gig at a time. They then send a link to the target person for download. Once they download it it's wiped from the system. It's a free service and I've used it many times to send large files... just another avenue.

ProAudioBus does not compress files and has been set-up for musicians. It's what I use.
