OK, how about Summertime? or some lyrics?

Post by fidgetyfeet » Thu Jun 11, 2009 4:35 pm

Hi all,I have a jingle Steve and I did about 15 yrs ago for the local college. It was for summer classes so we dug up an old band arrangement of the classic Summertime. After listening to it again we’ve decided to do a full version. It would be nice if we could find 1 or 2 players that would like to add their musical mark. The arrangement is just 4 verses and an ending at the moment, but that’s open to change. If you like odd time this one will be fun. You can hear them on our Taxi Page. Summer’s Cool; is the old 30 sec. jingle.Summertime; a rough sketch of the new version. If you’re interested, and would like a chart, let me know. Thanks Also,I haven’t gotten any responses for musicians from my post the other day, so let’s see if anyone would like to write some lyrics. I know it’s not the easiest way to write but if you have a lot of lyrical ideas you may find one of the arrangements we have are a good fit. If you have good song ideas we can also arrange music to accompany your lyric and melody ideas. Here’s a link to a private page on my website where you can hear some of the instrumental beds we’ve accumulated doing demos that never went anywhere. http://www.michaelaldieri.com/Lyrics_Wanted.html We kept the rights to the music, arrangements, and sound recordings so it would be great to recycle some of them. “Turn Around” is the latest piece that’s looking for lyrics. It’s a nice ballad that starts mellow and builds to a powerful ending. It’s not standard song structure, as the music was written to a free form poem, but it would be easy to re-arrange. The others are pretty straight forward. I’m not trying to sell these tracks, if you have really good lyrics you will be given a writers share of the copyright. Thanks,Mike
