oh Man..how i love reason for being able to tweak to no extent!i know that reason has a limited selection of effects, but with theautomation on almost EVERYTHING..it can be a handy dandy tool to getting what you wantESP the scream 4 distortion...i cant stress enough how muchi dig that puppy. One can really get a good guitar mix with it.When i record my guitars i have a digital effects unit (boss GT),i think i have a good sound and have tweaked proper.then i get it in the system and you know how it goes, it soundsS Q U A S H E D...but when i rex the tracks then put them up on reason's dr rex..i can keep looping them add adjusting in real time and get a reallythat thick "wall of noise" sound that i dig...and then i canpan and layer..yadayada ya...holler at me if you ever feel like trying it..i can give you sometips!peacegeoff

O.K., cool.I've got a boss gt too. Love the thing. I do alot of tweakin' with that thing too. The automation is the schizz, isn't it? So easy, once you get the hang of it. Have you got one of those midi controllers, or do you just use your mouse? I've got a little korg micro midi controller, but oftentimes I don't even end up using the dang thing. I'm so busy concentrating on other things, I practically forget all about it. Gotta' start using it. I'll holla' at you next time I try that with the guitars though. As you well know, it's a lotta' work, but it sounds like it's well worth the effort for ya'.ibanez468

Right Ibanez..it worth worth the work!i have a master midi keyboard but nothing that helps with automation...so many buttons and knobs i would probably haveto assign...if i was working behind reason nonstop..i would probably find ituseful..but im cool with the mousehave a good weekend man!~(off to play a show in Seoul tonite!)peacegeoff

Vicky..yeah i am often bewildered by the information/technology/techniques out there in this world of ours..when i first started with that old analogue multi track, i just feltsooo small..since i had no clue how to begin...but then..i just let go..and i think that is the beauty of a passion(that it never feels like..."school" when you learn something new...(and i can tell that most of everyone i have blogged with here ontaxi- that music IS their passion...)friends of mine say ...man i wish i was as good as so and so....but i tell them...where ever you are at...enjoy it..embrace itlove what you have now, and kill the ego to compare, and youwill find yourself dropping the idea of your own limits andexpanding brilliantly : )peacegeoff

right Vicky! you can learn from so many sources in so manyways..reading here is good..but i guess theres nothing like havinga friend right there with you to share ideassince everyone seems to be more busy these days, we communicate online often than having the time to meet in person, and at least from my experience..we kind of get used to it...sometimes the human element is just what we need to learnwell...i know i need it: ) exp since im in Korea and i dint meet manypeople interested in recording the internet brings us together and pulls us apart at the sametime...very interesting~cheers!: )
