Listing # D070118EL - two of the three songs I submitted were forwarded. Man, I hope at least ONE of these gets placed.

I noticed you've been a member since Jan 2005. Have you been writing specifically/mostly/rarely for taxi listings since then? How has being a Taxi member changed your writing?

Quote:How has being a Taxi member changed your writing?...I know I wasn't asked here, but I reply anyway... I find the question kind of intersting - when I think about it I would rather say that taxi changed my output: Somebody (screener) with a good knowledge takes some time to listen and critique my stuff - that motivates me and therefore I write more (and of course working on improvements). As far as I can say in my short membership (since sept 2006) taxi didn't change my writing but it changed the understanding ("..what *exactly* is this listing looking for..?") of music described in words.so far so good - rock on, dudes!Martin

gitarerro; listing #D070118EL . Quote:The Music Supervisor for a couple of popular cable TV series needs high energy ELECTRONICA SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS in the vein of the the Chemical Brothers, the Prodigy, Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, the Crystal Method, Underworld, etc. He’s looking for up-tempo, action-oriented Electronica that would create some tension for numerous stressful and pressure-packed scenes for the shows he’s working on. Male or female vocals are OK. If you submit a song with vocals, make sure you have an instrumental version on hand in case the supervisor is interested. He’s open lyrically, but more general-type lyrics will work best - they’ll be easier to place behind a multitude of different scenes. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. As always, we will notify everyone via e-mail, whether your submissions have been Forwarded or Returned. Submissions must be received no later than 4:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time (California time), Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007. TAXI # D070118ELsgs4u; No deals yet. Not even any calls, unfortunately - I also had 3 forwards in my last membership. Quote:I noticed you've been a member since Jan 2005.Have you been writing specifically/mostly/rarely for taxi listings since then? How has being a Taxi member changed your writing?Well, not quite, I was a member for a few months in 2005. Decided my stuff wasn't good enough yet and there weren't enough Dance/Electronic listings. Late 2006, I felt like I had improved enough, so I decided to go back to it. I've never written for TAXI... ever. The stuff I've submitted thus far has been music I've written for albums that I release myself. That said I'd like to branch out a bit and write *for* some listings, mainly Film/TV and New Age.Sadly I haven't amassed much music at all. My entire first album has been completely licensed. Since then I've only written about 6 full length original songs (three of which I've been sending around to TAXI). Assorted work on the side for video games, but nothing of the quality that TAXI would want.I know this is going to sound weird but I think the hardest part of making a living from music is writing good music. I don't think the actual business part is all that hard!

I submitted them at the same time via Broadjam, but dispatch seems to treat it as three independent submissions when I look at the "Previous Submissions" tab.
