Guitar Hero?

Batting 0 for 3 again with this set. Wondering if you have some thoughts on why I wasn't successful with this Y/N listing. A one line reason was added, see below, and all returned with 'Music' box ticked as opposed to stylistically off target.

The listing requirements:

ROCK SONGS and INSTRUMENTALS needed immediately by a prominent Music Supervisor who is working on an Indie Film. This specific request is needed for a film scene where people are playing the Guitar Hero video game. Music needs to be contemporary and upbeat, similar to the modern songs you would most likely hear when playing Guitar Hero.

The feedback:
....forwards have to be truly competitive with Foo Fighters, Van Halen, Alice in Chains, etc.

Great tunes man. I love the twisted chords, sounds like some b5 stuff, and the harmonized melodies -- really cool note selections. The sound is thick and fat. Only thing I can nit on is that it sounds like drum and amp plugins were used, just has that 'those aren't quite real' vibe to me. I think that it's getting tougher and tougher to get stuff to pass on a high bar listing -- you almost need to go into a studio with 'A' players and track stuff. And, based on the comments by the screener I suspect this was a really high bar. That said I'll bet you find a home for these, they could be used anywhere that aggressive guitar rock tracks are needed. I'd love to get your production notes sometime if you'd be willing to share via PM or on this thread.

Best of luck to you!

I think this was an extremely high bar listing. I've heard of some excellent tracks getting returned. I had one that I was hopeful with- the screener said it was very well done but just not quite good enough for this very highly selective client.

Oh well... next listing...

Thanks for checkin in guys.

Erich, check your PM. Indeed, the gear I use is fairly basic and inexpensive. Hopefully, we won't need to go back to the old way of doing this, or we'll all be in a lot of difficulty ha ha.

Casey, thanks for the support. Maybe we'll get right up there, someday.
