A Forward For Cutie (TAXI # Y060623HH)

Post by ashboxclay » Fri Jul 07, 2006 7:01 pm

It's such a damn roller-coaster the way it has always been for all of us I'm sure. But I'm thinking that the up's feel so 'effin good when they finally come (no matter how small they may be) that it's the addiction of those ups, or just the contrast between up/down that we all dig so much!I've spent the last 2 months in that "I suck" mode, and then just as I started some "non-music" project TODAY to get my juices flowing again I get a FORWARD the very same day. JeeezeHere's the listing:An LA-based Music Library STILL needs great RAP/HIP HOP SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS a la Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Eve, Kanye West, etc. for film/TV placement. The company has been in biz for about a year and already has had placements on ABC, NBC, and HBO as well as films distributed by Disney, Warner Bros., and Trimark. They offer a non-exclusive deal. The company's owner will screen your submissions. Those forwarded for Y060418HH, do not submit the same material. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY -- NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. Submissions must be received no later than June 23, 2006. TAXI # Y060623HHSONG FORWARDED: HEY LITTLE CUTIEBROADJAM ARTIST LINK:http://www.broadjam.com/artists/artist_ ... ID=27691PS: Over the last few months this song also made the TOP 10 on the POP-ALTERNATIVE, and FAN PICK charts.Hopefully the lawyer fee won't be the next downer on the coaster ride if something comes through on this. Oh well.....Ash

Ash, I love this song! It has TONS of character, and it's very original without being too far outside of the mainstream (especially thanks to the likes of Outkast expanding our expectations). The production is excellent as well (with the tiny exception of a doubled snare in the chorus, which is causing some nasty phasing effects). Fantastic job on this!I can't wait to listen to the rest of your music when I get the chance. You deserve success!Andre

Congrats Joe! I hope this up lasts a while.

Congrats! It's funny the way things happen. There's more than a few posts where the person was just ready to toss the whole thing in the drink and then all of a sudden an email for a forward or placement arrives. At the Taxi rally, they have sessions where they play tracks from Taxi members and a panel of experts comments on them. These are LARGE meeting rooms filled with Taxi members. It's a very festive atmosphere and I know for sure that this would be very popular. Since the library has some nice placements in network, cable, and film, don't be too hard to deal with if the time comes. Dave
