As a writer/producer of compositions, what's the best way to shop your recordings if your not the performer?

If you are a non-performer you will need to use demo services in order to have demos you can use to pitch your songs. I'm strictly a non-performer and that's what I do. Typically, it can cost $500-$1000 for a production, though simple guitar and vocals can be bought more like in the $200-$300 range.

Another option is to collaborate with folks who have the performance/production skills so as a team you can write and crank out good demos.

To give you a better answer, please tell us a little more about yourself. What genre(s)? What is your goal? Film/TV? Pitching songs to artists? All these affect what you will need to do.

If you can post a rough of a song you are thinking about demo-ing, we could also give you feedback but I realize as a non-performer not everything is "post-worthy". Trust me, I make some horrific roughs at home.

Also, feel free to PM me if you want to talk more offline about the songs you are working with.

Best,
:) Casey
