Just wanted to share a quick note.
Last Friday a very prestigious publishing company representing many major music stars contacted me (after reviewing demos I provided), said they review my music and thought it was "great." They offered me a contract. I signed it and sent my info and CD containing several cues last Thursday.
Totally crazy!

I have to ask. Did this company initiate contact with you or was this a result of you sending them music, a taxi forward, etc? (e.g. did they contact you unsolicited?).
Did you review the contract with a qualified music attorney?
The way you worded your post made me concerned. I HOPE this was a legit deal based on you or taxi presenting your music to them.

This is a non-Taxi contact. I am no longer a member of Taxi. I contact the company and requested the opportunity to submit samples.
One of the company reps contacted me and shared the specifics of what they wanted to determine if I suited their needs. I provided it to them and a few weeks later they contacted me and shared an offer with me.
In terms of the contract it's a 2 year non-exclusive contract, that offered a small amount of cash upfront, and a better than 50/50 split that benefits me. The specifics of the contract are very clear, no fine print, etc.
I cannot share more details regarding it, but rest assured, if you knew the name of the company and it's owner, I believe your concerns would be eased.
