My 2nd Taxi deal!
It' been a very good month of Taxi'ing for me. I submitted three pieces for the following listing last month:SERIOUS INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSERS NEEDED by a Music Producer who is creating a new independent music library and already has several TAXI composers under his roof. He is looking for composers IN ALL GENRES and said no stone will be left unturned in that respect. Although he is the provider of music for a huge daytime television talk show, he wants to make it clear that the composers he is looking to sign to the library will focus on other projects he is working on and will not compete with the composers working on the talk show. You must be able to work as a team player, take direction and deliver on time. ÊHe needs someone who uses high quality samples and has state-of-the-art equipment. ÊHe's definitely looking for a "pro" and not someone who works during the day, as he'll need you to be available for quick turnaround assignments and same day edits when necessary. He'd like someone with experience with syncing to tape. His deal offer is non-exclusive (except with other libraries) and you keep 100% of the writer's share. ÊAll submissions need to be Broadcast Quality. ÊPlease submit two to three instrumentals online or per CD, include Bio. ÊAll submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Monday, August 17, 2009. TAXI #Y090817INJust got the "deal" mail today!! This one I really, really wanted! I noticed many other familiar names on the email that went out and I want to congratulate each of you also. I "think" I know who this library is, and if its what I'm thinking it is, I know there are a lot of other fantastic Taxi writers already aboard. I'm very much looking forward to this!!B

Wow! Congratulations, Bryan! I considered applying for this one, but thought different of it at the last minute. I was really unsure of the terms, but I'm really glad it worked out for you man! Keep up the great work!

I had, via just being around these boards for a while and getting to know some people, a vague idea of what this library was doing. I knew that it had a real clientele and that real people that I knew were writing and having some success with it. So the terms really meant less to me than the opportunity. I'd have signed on for a life of writing Polka's, cause something seems to really be going on here. (PS. My Polka's would have kicked ass!)My Taxi membership was a few weeks away from running out and I figured I'd go for it. So glad it worked out and SO interested to see what comes next. Thanks!B

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!
