Oh - I have to look into that. There are a couple of EW libraries I really would like. (Stormdrum for example)

I already have the orchestra library, Gypsy, and Symphonic Choirs and would recommend all three.

All I have are the orchestra and Goliath, but I use them everyday. Really nice stuff. I also want stormdrum and the choirs. Gonna take a look.

You can NOT go wrong with any of their libraries!!

We have many of their libraries and love them all. I would take advantage of this great deal for sure!

I also have Orchestra Gold and Goliath. I use them all the time. I hate to resist a bargain so maybe it is time for a couple more libraries.

My recent forward "Folding Fan" (it's on my TAXI page, linked below) gives you a pretty clear listen to two RA instruments - koto and shakuhachi - as well as the taiko drums (can't remember if those are in RA or SD2...). That was the first track I did using RA, and so I certainly wouldn't call myself a power user of these libraries (yet ).

I bought the holiday 3-fer, going for Gold, RA, and SD2, and have mostly been thrilled. I mean, check out the articulations on the shakuhachi on "folding fan"! I composed to highlight them, but that's something you typically want to do anyway. I made extensive use of CC#11 to approximate realistic releases (breath running out/easing up).

Um... what else -- oh, my track "Love Lost," also on my TAXI page, has been forwarded. I originally did it using all MOTU Symphonic, but after getting EWQL Gold (and on a tight deadline) I replaced two instruments -- 1st violin and oboe, since they're prominent in the piece -- and possibly others that I can't remember right now, but those are the lead instruments. WORLDS of difference. Trust me. SO much better.

Something I plan to do as soon as I have time is download the example from the VSL site -- an artist did Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" using VSL and not only posted the resulting audio, but his MIDI files. I'm sure there's a ton of "best practice" info and tips to be learned by closely examining his work. This is mentioned (and linked to) elsewhere on this forum; I apologize but I've got to run right now and can't look it up for you. Suggest searching this forum on "Rite of Spring"... ciao!
