Wow, it's amazing that we're planning our rally social activities 8 months in advance!

So Taeko - before you're totally swamped with offers, I'd also be happy to treat you to dinner one night.

And Thai would be great. Anyone up for sushi?

This is probably impractical, but years ago when I lived in LA, I'd occasionally go to a restaurant in Topanga Canyon called "Inn of the 7th Ray." They had really interesting and well-prepared food, including a fantastic stuffed squash dish and cauliflower soup. It's been more than 20 years, but someday I'd love to go back there.

Taeko,

I'm a vegan and I try to eat whole organic foods whenever possible. Here's a website that helps us find food:

Hey, Taeko:

There are several of us with the same/similar dietary preferences and/or requirements. Raags typically organizes a mass order-in of Indian food at least once during the Rally (I've got their phone # in my iPhone still, and my fave things from their menu!).

I'm a vegetarian, sometimes vegan, too. Don't worry -- you are not alone, and you won't starve. It is such a blast; it's hard to even begin describing! Just imagine all the wonderful camaraderie you're experiencing on this forum, but in person. It's really mindblowing and wonderful.

Dorothy, the link you gave me is great. i even tried to see if there are places in my area in London. the site gave me lots of options. awesome. looks like its very useful when im travelling.
bookmarked it !

CK, good to know that im not alone.. over here in London, most of my friends prefer to go for something meaty, or pizza or something that i cant have, so i end up eating salad or fries in their menu  ..
i just cant wait to be at the rally..

it may take a while for me to understand different American accents, so please talk to me very slowly. or you can put your British accent on, folks !  !

At least you can eat french fries, one of the major food groups! There are some restaurants in parts of Pennsylvania where they put french fries IN the salad. I haven't seen that here in the Philadelphia area but I have in Pittsburgh and central PA. 8-)

If you go up Sepulveda about 1/2 mile (not too far by taxi) there is a trader joes which has a lot of healthier food options and vegan options and a Ralph's grocery. You can buy fruit and veggies there. A lot of the stuff at TJ's is microwavable - and you may be able to get a room with a microwave and fridge in it.
