To me , on my speakers the broadcast sounds pretty good , maybe justa touch more of bass. But Nice song .. If your going for TV or commercials you for sure have possibilities.. Not so much for making the world tour circuit.. My opinion... It's a feel good song I think . Kind of Hallmark or TV family show stuff.. Good Job .. I like it.

Hi Nick,

Sounds very nice. This kind of music seems to be in demand in the library music business and the recording and playing sound good, broadcast quality IMO.

Something that may help it a bit production wise would be to separate the guitars spatially a little bit more. For instance, pan the strumming part a bit more left and the lead a bit more right. Also, the parts sound like they were played on the same guitar and the high frequencies of the strumming part sometimes mask the lead a little bit. A tiny bit of darkening eq on the strumming part may just be enough to bring out the lead just a little bit more.

I like the dry sound, it's intimate and warm sounding. If you wanted to put a little ambience on it to give it a bit of a bigger space or just more "air" around the sound, that would be a worthwhile experiment, but don't put so much as to sound like an "effect", just enough to make the room a tiny bit bigger.

Compositionally, it sets a nice vibe but about 2/3 or the way through it starts to wander a bit. It might be worth trying on the next piece (because you should do a bunch of these, I think they're very marketable) to make a bit more of a melodic statement that is simpler and easier for the ear to follow. I enjoyed this piece but started to float off after a while, which isn't necessarily a bad thing!

All in all, this is a good genre to be in. I think libraries are always looking for good sounding, well played acoustic guitar music. In fact, you could do a mix of this with just the strumming part and I bet it would be effective as well.

Thanks Thokus, Ott and Mazz for taking the time to analyize my song. The genre I was going for was for library, tv or backround music. I gave up on the world tour goal a while back. Mazz, I did play both parts on the same guitar and duplicated the strummimg part and panned left and right. Then I placed the lead part dead center. As for the room sound, I used the TL space "Loft Home" preset. I will experiment a bit with a larger room and the panning. Thanks again.

Hi Nick, nice tune! I enjoyed the feel of your playing as well! I thought perhaps as a contrast to the steel string accompaniment, you might try a nylon string on the lead, melody part. It certainly would give the piece another dimension of warmth. The other thing that I continued to hear near the latter portion of the tune was a d.bass part ( like a jazz bass sound) . Perhaps that would give it, again further contrast, as well as depth! Just a few of my humble thoughts, from a fellow guitarist/composer!

I was trying to give it the k.i.s.s. treatment. Most of my other arrangements have at least 4 or more elements. I was trying to kept it to one but I could not help myself.
