Hi Kevin,

After listening to your tracks I totally agree with you and the other people who left a post to this thread. I have only been a taxi member for a year (going on my 2nd) and I have had about 12 submissions and only one forward. When I get a return, I print out the form with all the "scores" like you did and I take note of the different screeners and every few months I review the different reviews and compare the different people who listen to my music to see if there is some consistency.

In my case it's not very consistent at all. I have submitted the same song 2-3 times to different postings and have a much different opinion from different screeners. I always thought that was strange.

anyway, I am sure you know this but remember that although Taxi.com is a fantastic company and resource for us artists who are trying to make money with our music, there are also many different music libraries, music publishers etc that you can submit you music too. Don't put all you eggs in the Taxi basket! I am sure that taxi would even agree to that.

You have great music and it's well produced for sure. I would be seeking other avenues for shop you music along with Taxi.

If you need help or additional information about other resources, go ahead and PM me and we can exchange personal e-mail addresses and I can share my datbase contact with you.

Good Luck!!

Dave

Kevin,

Hang in there. I read your entire posting and SO MANY people have experienced your pain. It sucks. As someone who has been only writing for 2 years and just joined TAXI, I really need people like you to be positive. I'm going to be getting my first critique on a song I wrote for a listing for a teen pop sing and I know I'm going to get WACKED, but it's people like you who know what they're doing who can be the leaders of these messages boards and those leaders need to be positive. I think the music sounds great, but I've learned the bar is set high here. What sucks about TAXI is that what one person thinks is great another could think sucks and it just depends how it lines up with the person listening to it. The bottom line is, it's competitive industry and that will never change. I truly believe if you stay positive, it will happen for you. I can hear the passion in your voice (even though you weren't speaking...it was all text...but anyways). You're still a young guy. Many people didn't get big until their 40s, 50s. Trust me, passion goes far. When everyone else drops out, you'll still be here and that drive will set you where you need to be. Stay positive!

Hey Evan,

I'm not really that upset. It's the way the world works. Things have to be forced into a system for anything to work at all. No matter what system is chosen, it's not going to work for everybody all the time. There are always going to be cracks and misshapen parts that simply don't fit. If you manufacture parts that fit from the get go things go a lot smoother. That's why there are so many country songs about whiskey and rap songs about jewelry....all the while the average music listener has no idea who the hell Tom Waits is.

Hi Kevin; These are the hardest kind of returns IMO. This is why the whole screening process can be frustrating. If the music is that good like the screener says, then it should be forwarded.
But all you can do is wake up and suit up for another day. We've all had tough ones like this.
