Audio file exports at half speed!

Post by georginasaint » Thu May 13, 2010 12:32 am

Hi guys,
I'm rendering my percussion tracks down to audio in order to put a fade on the end and leaving my orchestral tracks to mix down later, but when I do that and import the wav percussion file, it's playing back really slow - I would say almost half speed. My tempo is set to 125. Can't understand why that would happen.
When I play the wav file on its own, it's at the right tempo, so it's a setting within the DAW, but I haven't changed anything, knowingly.
I'm in Cubase on PC using EWQL and Stormdrums2 on this one.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Georgie

Sometimes this is just a bug. Turn off and on and rebounce.

BUT...most probably the software is getting confused because you are bouncing down at different sample rate to what your project is set to.

Is your project at 44.1k while you bounced at 49 or 96k?

Sounds like a sample rate miss-match problem. What is the sample rate of the session and the bounce?

Exactly what the first 2 said.. Make sure when you export it is set to the EXACT same settings as the project you intend to import it back into.. ie 24bit 48Khz if that was the project settings. You probably exported/rendered at 16bit 44.1Khz which is CD standard.

You can have different bitrates usually so make sure you keep that the same as the project as well.

Aha guys you are genuises (genuii?)
I did change the export settings - so I will work on that - I'm not sure what my original settings were - but there are probably only 2 choices, 3 max...
bit of tweaking and I'll let you know if it's fixed and I'll buy you a beer at the rally (it'll have to be one beer between the three of you I'm afraid)
