What do you think would make a good title to this song ?

Post by Donny Pike » Thu May 13, 2010 12:43 am

Aloha from the jungle. Here is my latest song from my jungle hut. thanks to solar collected power and satellite broadband.
It's about 3:14 long and as of yet has no title. Take a listen and if a title comes to mind pass it on :-)

Donny,

I would pull the brass section back a little in the mix and call it something like:

Wall Street Pressure
Hectic Office

The drum track reminds me of someone typing away on a keyboard.

Hi Donny....I enjoyed that piece very much....as I listened I imagined a leaf that had fallen from a tree into a brooke that caught a current into a stronger stream that led to rapids , tumbling over rocks, turning corners and rushing towards the falls and at the very end ,just before it's about to go over the falls it gets caught for a split second on a fallen branch and a gust of wind sends it airborn ,free in the wind...I would call it
"Final Freedom"...Just my take on it...and it was wonderful!

Can't help you with the title, but I thought it really wonderful. I especially like the way the intensity built at the end.

I was picturing ants marching along in perfect order on the jungle floor bringing gifts to their queen...
Behold The Queen!
I'm sure most of you don't know that Donny sang with The Lettermen for many years, when are we going to hear a vocal piece from you, Donny? All the best, enjoyed it very much as always...eo.

Hi Donny,

I agree with fret17. I like the imagery, and "Final freedom" seems to fit both that imagery and the song.

In terms of the song, I really like it - the flow, the direction, the buildup. Personally, I think a classical guitar playing the lead melody and real drums would boost it
immensely. But don't change the song. It's great.

Hey Donny,

I feel honored to be sharing a thread with one of the voices of The Lettermen. "I Only Have Eyes for You" was one of my favorite songs right after my high school days.

Holy S***,
I just pulled out 5 Capital LP’s from my vinyl collection.
“A Song For Young Love”, “Once Upon A Time”, “College Standards”, “The Lettermen in Concert” and even a Christmas album, “For Christmas This Year”
I got my puberic start with your music. My favorites, "When I Fall In Love" and "Once Upon A Time".
It certainly is an honor. :)

Ciao, Dan
