Best 'no leakage' headphones???
Hey friends,
any ideas on the best 'no leakage' studio headphones? I've been using Beyerdynamics DT's but there's
always click track leakage, vocal leakage, trumpet leakage...you get the idea. Plus their sound is just atrocious.
Any ideas from the battlefield?
thanks!
warmest regards
Adonis

For sound isolation I've had good results with Sony MDR-V600

Hmm, my Sony MDR-7506s are leaky as Methuselah's Depends ; my Audio Technica ATH M-40fs have a much better seal.

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

I have a few sets of the 7506's as well and wouldn't use those when iso is key. One thing that I do like about those is that they can get super loud. The v600's are a different animal. Enclosed ear and a lot smoother than the 7506's.mojobone wrote:Hmm, my Sony MDR-7506s are leaky as Methuselah's Depends

I enjoy my AKG K-701 headphones but they are open backed and so would not work for your application. I should probably get a good set of closed back cans. So let us know what you finally end up with.

My Audio-Technica ATH-M50's are pretty great. Seem to do a good job for me but there are cans that are specially made as iso headphones but they may not sound so great. Here's a link:
