MP3 CONVERSION SOFTWARE FOR MPOWERED 8 PRO TOOLS

Post by brett_lemos » Thu May 20, 2010 10:06 am

hI,,,thx for any help on this in advance,,,,,i am having alot of trouble getting .wav files converted to mp3,,,there is soo many softwares to use,,,,,,,,,,i paid 50.00 for "avs4you" which is junk and the support so far is too,,,

even my laptop now won't rip the .wav file from the cd i put it on,,,whereas it did before.

at some point i will upgrade the pro tools to get the production software that includes this,,,,,,
for now i want a different handle.

thx again

You can use iTunes to convert to mp3

>Edit
>General
>import settings
>import using MP3 encoder

Once that is set, cue up the song, it can be playing if you want.
>Advanced
>Create MP3 Version

and wha la

WinAmp and Windows Media Player can do it, also. RealPlayer does a nice job converting, too.

thx for the reply,,,unfortunately no joy,,,,,,the cd with the .wav file will not convert to mp3,, and a .wav file on the desktop could not get it to convert either,,,,,,,,
i downloaded the latest version of itunes onto this vista pc,,tried your settings,,but no joy,,,i adjusted the device mgr options for playing mp3,,music,,videos etc. all to itunes,,,still no joy,,,,,,,,,,

i was able to route the playback through my interface then to my Event monitors that was nice!
i will in the future move to an imac and firewire interface.

If you have PT while you are in your session just go to file then bounce to disk and you will be prompted to choose file type and location.

the PT Mpowered does not have the mp3 option,,,,,it needs to be added in the "production suite pkg" or some such name which is another few hundred i believe.,,,,,,,brett

the mp3 export option is available separately from digi (now avid):
http://shop.avid.com/store/product.do?p ... 5113875552

i know it works in Pro Tools LE, quick google search shows it should work in M-Powered as well. if you only need to make mp3s in pro tools that might be the easiest way to go.
