Digidesign Eleven Rack - Anyone using it

Post by renips » Tue May 25, 2010 3:27 pm

Thinking of getting the Digidesign Eleven rack. I have read up on it. It seems very user friendly and can be used in live applications as well as studio. Anyone here have it or no anyone who has it?

Thanks

I've played one and went to a demo presentation of one. Flat out impressive.

Anyone used it in a composing and recording studio situation? It seems like it would be a good solution for the solo producer, but do you find yourself wishing there was more than the one input?

As an all in one studio tool, the POD X3Live is far more useful, and three hundred dollars cheaper. If all you record is guitars and you prefer the sound/feel, it may be worth it to you, given that it's also a ProTools dongle, but if sound quality is paramount, you might prefer the Axe:FX, and a standalone interface.

The pod stuff is a real workhorse. Big bang for the buck. But if you're Satriani and featuring guitar with big, warm tone, the Eleven Rack is the better sounding unit, but only by a small margin to the average person. If the main sound in your recording is the vocal track, the X3 is a great way to go.

Thanks for the input...I'm sure it's just my G.A.S. talking. I already have the Eleven plug-in, I should probably get more proficient at that before blowing more cash on the hardware version...
