10 to 30 days after the deadline date of each listing.
Not a huge problem, more of a minor quibble but, when you submit taxi says that you will receive feedback within "10 to 30 days after the deadline date of each listing." I don't remember all of mine but the last two were about 32-35 days after the closing date of the listing. I have one more pending and it's around 26 days. Does it take this long for everyone? If it's 10-30 days why is it always minimum 30 days? Or maybe it's not? I would assume that there are tons of submissions and some people are reviewed first and get a response quickly. Is it first come first serve or how does it work?
Thanks any and all.

The results are held until after all the tracks are reviewed, then they release the results to everyone all at once. Genres that get *lots* of submissions (like Country for example)... those will take longer just from the volume of music to be screened. A listing looking for "Armenian Electronica" where only 25 people submit... that'll be one of those 10 day ones.jonathansorensen wrote:Not a huge problem, more of a minor quibble but, when you submit taxi says that you will receive feedback within "10 to 30 days after the deadline date of each listing." I usually think in terms of four to six weeks. That's more than usual but with that mindset I'm not anxious about results (too much).

While we're on the subject Dave , I was wondering how many times a screener listens to the song?...once through or does he go back a few times ....seems to me there has been songs that I thought weren't very good at first...I grew to like after a few more listens...any idea?.....thanks!

First... I know some of these things because I've visited Taxi on a few occasions. I'm as interested in how my music is screened as anyone else. Also, this question/info comes up all the time at the Taxi Rally. I've been to a few of those too.fret17 wrote:While we're on the subject Dave , I was wondering how many times a screener listens to the song?...once through or does he go back a few times ....seems to me there has been songs that I thought weren't very good at first...I grew to like after a few more listens...any idea?.....thanks!

Screeners listen just once for the most part. They are required to listen up to the bridge but usually the song is listened to all the way through. Like you'll hear if you attend the Rally (in the listening sessions with the major label A&R guys/gals)... it's usually obvious after the first verse and chorus whether or not the track in question works for the intended purpose. Not listening to the last chorus isn't going to matter on a track that stinks or is so far off target it's crazy.
Here's one thing that I learned... screeners WANT to forward music. They're dying to hear great songs! If a song needs a second listen... it probably won't grab the immediate attention of the listing party so we just have to send music that is obviously forward material in the first 15 seconds or at least by time the chorus hits.

I knew that about you from other postings, that's why I asked you specifically Dave...and as I suspected, your answer was extremely informative and also validated the industry norm as I've always heard it to be about screenings....I guess the reason I asked was because lately I've been writning songs with twists and surprise endings....so I now know it better be a real attention getter to get them to hear the ending..Thanks again!

Thanks for the information. I'll revise my expectations
