Re: seeking suggestions for submissions
Checked out "Lay Down" Just listening on my laptop it sounded pretty good. Pop Rock with the potential to cross into Rock. It sounds like something that could appear on several charts. If you can hold that vibe together for ten songs I would say cut an album and promote yourself. Your still young so really no reason to let others record your stuff. there are plenty of listings for new bands so put a small Bio together with some pics and submit to a few of them. You really have nothing to lose. Nice job and welcome. gl

Re: seeking suggestions for submissions
Ange,
Enjoyed both songs. I thought "Lay Down" was the stronger of the two. Terrific vocals on both songs, though. Very expressive. That's what I understand everybody is looking for. Great for the modern rock genre IMO. I wondered about the tempo change (if that's what I heard) at the end of "Strides". It clashed a little for me. But that's minor. Really terrific work overall. Good luck!

Re: seeking suggestions for submissions
Thanks again for the tips. "Strides" still has a couple minor things I need to tweak but the end doesn't rub everybody the right way the first time they hear it as it is a fairly drastic change. It's definitely risky but a risk that I dig in this particular case. I will let you all know when that one is complete. I'm also going to make a couple changes to "Lay Down" after some of the suggestions made here and from my latest (and first ever) submission. I'm definitely going to look out for a suitable label listing after the forums replies.
Btw...I submitted "Lay Down" for the following listing:
CONTEMPORARY ROCK SONGS - from Mainstream Rock to Hard Rock - a la the wide variety of Foo Fighters to Hinder to Pearl Jam, etc., needed by a successful Music Publisher who's had tons of great Film/TV placements for many TAXI members. Male or Female Vocals are okay. Universal lyrics are necessary - lyrics that can work for a range of scenes. Style can be contemporary; they're not looking for Classic or Retro Rock here. No instrumentals please! Vocal and instrumental performances must be top-notch! They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Broadcast quality needed (great home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Tuesday, June 29, 2010. TAXI #Y100629RK
