Are Intel High Def Audio or Real Tek ASIO or Direct X Compat

Post by gongchime » Fri Jun 25, 2010 8:11 pm

I see the current soundcards on my computer are Intel (R) High Definition Audio HDMI and Real Tek High Definition Audio. I don't see anywhere that says if they're ASIO or Direct X compatible. Are they?

I would be very surprised if your cards couldn't support ASIO and Direct X. If these aren't mentioned in your documentation, it could be that the writers didn't think the average consumer reading the docs would care to know. If I'm wrong about this I would like to be corrected.

Those both mean that your card supports 'higher than CD' bit depth and sample rate; it's more important that your audio/MIDI interface is ASIO compatible.

My computer comes with documentation? Wow! Maybe I should read it. ;) Rumaging...nope nothing in here about the onboard soundcards but there IS also a cd which I'll look at but it seems to be in Indonesian.
