Great Demo Studios
I'm working with StudioPros on a project and the truth is, I'm disappointed on a lot of fronts and I was curious if anyone could recommend another studio that does more Pop than Country. Please let me know. Thanks!

Is it the quality of the sounds they're getting or are they jes' not helping you realize your vision?

Re: Great Demo Studios
The problems I have had others may have not, so I don't want it to come off that I am badgering them because I'm not. When things are finally finished, they do sound very good.
I had to pay for additional revisions on drums because the drums they recorded didn't line up with the singers voice. Obviously the drummer didn't listen to the demo and only listened to their sketch, so never heard how the vocals lined up. Also, I've made revisions on things and they go unchanged. For example, there was a weird "blip" on one of my tracks and I asked to fix it and I got the revision back and the "blip" was still there. I'm not even sure what was revised!
This is my first project with them, so I'm eligible for a full refund, but I really don't want to have to go there because we are quite far ahead I think everything will be done in about 2 weeks. I just want them to do what I've asked. I'm working on a country project with Magic Shack and I'm looking forward because the communication has been AMAZING with Jason and his stuff sounds great! I'm just looking for a studio that does more pop for other pop projects.

I'd suggest Gary Earl at http://www.garyearl.com/
Listen to his samples.. he's a genre enigma and fantastic to talk to. You'd pick up a million tricks by his comments alone!

I've worked with Studio Pros a lot. If you call Kati O'Toole, you can probably work something out. I've had that happen where I didn't think I should have to pay extra because the player didn't follow directions. I've never had to pay extra. I think they are the best for non-country song demos.

Yeah, it's OK to push back and say that you had previously communicated something they didn't pick up on. They'll work with you. Katie is great, and they want your repeat business, so keep talking with them. They'll make it right.DorothyWallace wrote:I've worked with Studio Pros a lot. Re: Great Demo Studios
Yeah I tried explaining that to them. I even did a "mash up" with my demo, so they could hear how it didn't fit. On the phone she 100% agreed with me. I said I would do a midi example of what I wanted. She then sent me an email, so I could upload the files and explained how I would have to pay. I said I don't understand why I have to pay $25, since the version the drummer did didn't fit the song. Could you please explain that? I got the corporate answer:
"For each step in the recording process you have one free modification per instrument. Since you had already used the first free modification, the second change was $25. If you are ever hesitant on the first preview and would like to upload an example for the free modification as you have for the second we will make those changes for free."
I'm going to try Gary Earl for my next pop project. I'm already quite impressed by his website. Thanks!

"Almost final" instrumental of Plenty of Time is on my page. Can still modify the piano once...if you have any ideas
