Imagine a steel cage match between Daughtry, Coldplay, Paramore and Demon Hunter with Joe Satriani as the referee...

Re: instrumental version?
For that listing, I would not submit an instrumental. Typically, if they're looking for an instrumental version, they'll either have something like "Looking for Pop/Rock Songs and Instrumentals" or something like "Looking for Pop/Rock Songs, but instrumental versions are ok to send as well" in the listing. But in the case, they don't appear to be after instrumentals.breakingpointesound wrote:POWER POP/ROCK SONGS in the wide range of Matthew Sweet, Big Star, The Knack, Fountains of Wayne, Rooney, Superdrag, The Strokes, etc., needed by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher for the purpose of Film/TV placements and licensing. This company has signed and placed dozen of TAXI songs, and offers an non - exclusive deal. Excellent performances are absolutely necessary. Broadcast quality needed (excellent home recordings are okay). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Noon (PST) on Monday, August 30, 2010.
It's a dispatch listing that I was emailed about, but there are other ones that I am interested in as well. I write very weezer/fountains of wayne style stuff, but more with direct Christian lyrics. So I was thinking of just taking the vocals out of the mix.

Re: instrumental version?
I called Taxi with that very question, because this style is *exactly* in my wheelhouse, but I do instrumentals only -- the answer was an unambiguous "no instrumentals for this listing."
