where to stay

Post by Graham Turner » Sun Jul 25, 2010 4:52 am

Hi
I'm a new Taxi member and budding songwriter ( hopefully). I'm attending a similar event here in the UK in August and I also want to come to the Rally in November so I'm on a tight budget to do both and I'm trying to organise my flights from the UK and accomodation for me and my guest..... can anybody tell me where is a good place to stay on a tight budget which is close enough to the venue?
Graham ( London, England)
PS please also add me as a friend on www.myspace.com/grahamturnermusic or on here or facebook me so we could say hi in L.A.

Graham... have you registered with TAXI for the Rally yet? I believe if you do they will send you some of the info you require.

I have registered for the Rally and haven't gotten any info yet about places to stay. If it is held at the same place as last year, it is at the Westin. I am also told/read around here that there will be deals for rooms there, and that you really want to stay on location if at all possible, as there are a number of things that go on after hours that you may want to attend.

This will be my first Rally as well. So I am looking forward to it. If I am wrong with anything above, please correct me.

Hi Graham. I stayed at the Westin and I highly recommend that since you will have the best experience being there on site. Check out this year's deals or give them a call, it is worth it. But if money is an issue in your planning and you don't mind a short walk, there is a travel lodge on the corner at the end of the block. You can check out the rates and reservations by going to www.Travelodge.com and find the 5547 W Century Blvd. Aviation and Century Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90045 location at LAX, there are two so be sure that is the one you are looking at.
There is also a Motel 6 on the same street at 5101 West Century Boulevard.

Phil
