Thanks, Mojo! You always make it interesting and clear with your descriptions. :D

My last question (and I promise I will stop this thread) is, will the Duet and something like an M-Audio Sport allow me to use virtual instruments AND my Korg sounds? Is this a good set up or would I be better off with something like the MOTU ultralite since it is audio/midi (although i heard the MOTU has suspect sound quality)?

The MOTU Traveler is an excellent choice, and leaves some room to grow, (it can easily accommodate recording a small combo to individual tracks) it's portable, more flexible and rugged than the Duet, and is one of a very few interfaces that can operate on either USB 2 or FireWire. To my mind, the extra capability more than trumps the very slight breath of extra top-end sweetness in the Duet's mic preamps, which you'll only engage when recording live acoustic instruments and vocals using microphones; you'd use the Duet's TRS 1/4" phone jacks to record your Korg's sounds. The MOTU is a little more expensive, but only by a few pennies per month over the life of the device. Your mileage may vary; if you have an excellent and very quiet recording space/vocal booth, a great microphone or three, and intend to either stack tons of live-tracked vocal and acoustic instrument parts or do very exposed solo vocal or instrumental recordings or stereo miked live ensembles, you should probably go with the Duet.
