New Taxi forum member here

Post by ShaunDeGraff » Wed Sep 08, 2010 5:29 pm

Hey all,

My name's Shaun DeGraff. I decided to join Taxi after gaining a desire to license my music. I've been writing and performing for over 20 years and wouldn't do anything else in the world.

I have to admit I was a tad skeptical about Taxi at first, but after a lot of research, reading, and discovering an 'A' rating from the BBB, I decided to take the plunge (also just registered for this year's Road Rally).

Take a quick listen at my Taxi library, I would love to know what type of listings I'd be suited for from some of you more experienced users (www.taxi.com/ShaunDeGraff).

Thanks you all, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in Nov!

Hi Shaun...your taxi link goes nowhere but I listened to a couple of your tunes on Reverbnation ("Everything To Me" and your live cut "Amplifier". Really impressive stuff. I'm sure you're going to do well.
Best,

Welcome Shaun!

Looking forward to meeting you at the rally. Don't forget to put a dot on your badge (any stationary store colored dot will do)... Those of us from the forum do that so we can find each other at the rally. Forum members are actually a small percentage of all Taxi members and the rally has at least a few thousand folks attending. So wear a dot and instantly find some forum friends.

Cya in Nov!
:) Casey

Welcome , Shaun! I consider these forums to be one of Taxi's most valuable, yet under-utilized features. I like to see forum posts from new members; it shows you're a hard-charger. :D

Hey thanks for the warm welcome everybody! I'm already loving Taxi. I got another return today which is 1/3 total so far, but I have submitted to about 15 listings since I've started my membership in July.

I'll make sure to place a dot on my badge. And, speaking of which, how do I go about receiving my badge?

Also, it seems I am having a hard time linking to my profile page. Everybody is saying it's not working or going straight to their own profile. Can somebody point me in the right direction to fix this?

One last thing as well, I'm giving serious thought to Dispatch, it seems like it has some great potential for some $$$. However, the dispatch forum isn't very active at all. Is anybody a member? Any recent success stories? Would you think it's a good idea to upgrade to Dispatch?

Thanks for the positive feedback kitchensink! It's greatly appreciated.

I hope to meet you all at the Rally this year!

hi Shaun, welcome to the forums. i listened to the song on reverb -sounds great, awesome vocals!

regarding the taxi link, try this: log in to your taxi page and click on "my artist info." scroll down to the bottom of that page and look at the bottom part you filled in - "my taxi link." it will say, www.taxi.com/ and then whatever you put in. that is your taxi link. it is case specific so make sure to copy it over here the way you have it there. HTH!

also, you get your badge upon check in at the rally.
