Beatles "All Together Now" cover

Post by Haywire » Thu Sep 09, 2010 2:47 am

Hi All,
This is not a success story; it's a success inquiry: Did anyone else who got forwarded as I did on the Beatles "All Together Now" cover listing get a deal? I see from reading in the Forwards forum that a 6-18 month waiting period is not unusual. I am just trying to find out if maybe one of the other forwards got the deal and therefore , no point in my wishing and hoping.
Thanks for any news or comments ,
Haywire

Haywire,

I would just try to forget about it, although I know that that's not easy to do. It's not unheard of for 1-2 years to go by before hearing any word (if you will at all). It has happened to me.

Good luck!

Justin

That listing is not officially a dead issue, but a few days after we sent the forwards, another company/product (who works with another ad agency) used a similar cover of All Together Now in one of their TV spots. I'm guessing that the agency/product we had forwarded the music to (which by the way, was incredibly good and blew them away!) went into "punt" mode and probably had to reconfigure their entire campaign. Just guessing, but an educated guess from my years of working with ad agencies for nearly 6 years when I lived in NY.

The good news is that the HUGE agency we sent the music to was REALLY impressed, so I'm pretty sure they'll run more listings with us. Glad it wasn't the same agency that ran the now infamous soup listing.
