Going back the original topic,

I also notice that TAXI sometimes repeat listings so I can only imagine there's not enough good material in the right hands at the moment. To me, that screams opportunity.

I've seen listings I've not been able to submit to then finished the material anyway only to see a similar listing appear a few months later. And ... got a forward.

I can only imagine libraries and those that need material need more good quality material. Lots of choice is better than none from their point of view.

In terms of forming a longer-term relationship, I would not heistate providing material to someone who is already hiring TAXI writers too. That's kinda confidence boosting.

On a more serious note, if you do look at the various listings from this company, and other postings like them, you'll see that stylistically the range of music requested is really varied. If you can think of a genre, it's likely being filled. These listings could be thought of as holes in supply that need filling. And will continue to need filling on an ongoing basis. I'll never do, say tween pop songs, or really any songs for that matter. Maybe you do. And if you do, how many could you actually do a month, for example?

From an education standpoint, watching these listings could give one an idea of the breadth of material needed and you might find that you just so happen to be really great at one of these areas. If so, you might find yourself with an opportunity to concentrate on what you do well and continually find homes for your creations.

Well, lemme just ask the question(s) of the "composers under the roof", if it is permitted to do so. Does this un-named company have a forward and return system like TAXI's or do they just accept whatever you write? Are there ever conversations with that company where "I like this but you need to change that" is discussed? Lastly, I would guess they would put out a list of music they need to all who are "under the roof". Is this the case or do they contact you directly as someone known to them that can write a particular genre for a particular project?

Inquiring minds and all that aside, I'm just interested in how the business works. By all means don't divulge anything that would get you into trouble.

Congrats & Good Luck to all who are "under the roof"!

Okay! Cue the crickets! Silence speaks volumes and I have obviously stumbled into a subject that is taboo. I have run into this sort of thing more times in the corporate world than I care to even remember. Usually silence is needed for a good reason, so, not a problem! Most things are revealed sooner or later.

Again, Good Luck!

They do listen to everything and request tweaks if necessary. At times they will send examples of what they are looking for or links to examples on YouTube, etc.

Sometimes special requests are put out to the entire group, sometimes to a subset, depending on what is being requested, volume of music needed, etc.
