maybe first placement

Post by stevecollom » Sat Sep 11, 2010 6:21 pm

could this be my first placement?

Mid week i got an email from one of the libraries that i'm signed to and they wanted some alts of one of my songs. One of their clients needed it for an Ad But ........... i have been very hesitant to post this, because i'm not sure if this constitutes as a success story.

Maybe it's somewhat some success.

puzzled, and hoping it goes through

Woo-hoo! Sounds like a good success to me! It's almost always a good thing when a library contact you. Congrats!

It's possible but not for sure. Advertising folks are notorious for changing their minds a gazillion times.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you...

It's a success just to be so close to getting the gig that they want edits at the ready - I woudl celebrate either way!!!!
Fingers crossed for you!

Every increment on the path is a success, IMO. As was mentioned before, the fact that they are asking for edits is a positive step. This being show biz, the emotional rollercoaster factor is pretty high, so "don't open the champagne before the contract is signed" is probably the best strategy here, but at the very least, your music is on the desk of the client, and that's a success in my book.

Congrats!
