DEMO/SESSION SINGERS sought by a Los Angeles based hit writer and team of producers. This is a paid gig based on credentials and prior experience. They are seeking a wide range of fresh and commercial sounding vocalists to use on master quality demo recordings to be pitched to major labels worldwide. Female vocal references include: Katy Perry, Paramore's Hayley Williams, and Leona Lewis. Male vocal references include: David Cook, Adam Lambert, and Jamie Fox. Studio experience is absolutely necessary for this one - and singers must be available to record in Los Angeles on a regular basis OR have an excellent home studio and be able to send and receive files online. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics and bio. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 10:00am (PST) on Thursday, October 28, 2010.

Does the singer have to be a Taxi member or can it be a vocalist that a dispatch Taxi member is producing? Also can the singer demo be a cover song or does it need to be original material?

Hey John,

I called Taxi and asked because I thought it was good question... the answer is no because it showcases the singer and would be under their name not yours. That person would need to be a member of Taxi. IF the song is the showcase... having other musicians is completely acceptable.

Also, IF your singer gets a membership in order to do this... use that persons BEST material imho. Whatever showcases their talent the most... I imagine a cover would be best since that shows their ability to cover a song.
