The Quality Keeps Getting Better and Better Every Year

Post by dpenn » Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:10 pm

Hey Everyone,

After sitting through the majority of listening panels and listening to quite a few member CD's,
I've got to say that the quality of both the writing and production is the best that
it's ever been in my 5 years of attending TAXI Road Rally's.

It really goes to show that people are taking the time to hone their craft and have the desire to make
the best impact possible to maximize their chances for success.

Another observation was the level of professionalism and kindness amongst members this year. I really think it's the
best it's ever been.

Thank you Michael and to your team for putting on another spectacular Rally this year. The quality coming out of
the members is a true testament to everything that you guys put into it. Can't wait 'till 2011!

I've not kept perfect records, but I think I've been to just about all 12 of the Road Rallies. The top-end material this year was incredibly good. And the average stuff was very, very good. Back in the earliest years (where all songs were on cassette tape) there were usually a couple of cringe-inducing, embarassing, mortifyingly bad songs. A rising tide raises all boats. But for me, this forum and the very generous members have been a huge part of my own improvements over the last few years. (BTW, none of my tunes have ever been picked out the boxes, so none of mine have been a source of communal pain and anguish at any of the listening panels. ( Not to say that it wasn't possible, though. I'm just lucky, I guess. ha ha ha )

The music played during the listening panels was amazingly good this year. My first Rally was two years ago. There was a huge difference in overall quality this year. The Taxi education seems to be working!
