Hi Al,

You know, my initial tempo was about 1/4 note = 136 and the piece clocked in at almost 6 minutes. I upped the tempo for two reasons. First, I thought that 6 mins. might be a little excessive for a library piece :?: , and second, because I felt the slower tempo sounded somewhat dull because of the sampled orchestra--just not enough variety of articulations. The faster tempo shaved a bit of time of the duration and gave the piece the sparkle I was looking for. But you're right, if I were conducting this piece with a live orchestra I would go with a more stately tempo. BTW, Glad you liked that cresc. passage; I tried to capture a touch of Haydn's wit and unpredictability.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and for the comments.

Hey Kel,

Yes, I was a symphony conductor for many years, so I learned the different styles pretty thoroughly. I wanted to do as many pieces as I had time for for that listing as I don't know how often purely classical pieces are called for at Taxi--esp. pieces in the style of Haydn! It seemed like a godsend to me. I only wish I had time to do a Faure piece, but producing the Vivaldi piece took a long time.

BTW, I'll be posting an ethnic piece or two in the near future, for which I could definitely use your expertise.

Thanks for your post,

Vince
