Even a hurricane couldn't keep me away from the rally!

Post by hazineju » Tue Nov 09, 2010 5:31 pm

A quick thank you post from me! Won't be around a computer much for another few days, but had to stop by the forum to say what an amazing time this year's rally was for me again!

For those who didn't hear the story, St. Lucia was hit badly by Hurricane Tomas the weekend before the Rally. Despite the fact that the airport was back in business the Tuesday before the rally, my particular airline refused to bring in any flights until Saturday, meaning I would have missed everything by the time I would actually get to LA. Luckily, and with help from wonderful people in my life, I managed to get on a different flight and got to the Rally Friday morning.

And it was soooooo worth it! Aside from the wonderful classes and panels, making new friends and connections, and the precious time spent with the awesome forum gang, I was one of 6 people to be signed as a composer to a huge production company!!!! (I'll post more on this in Success Stories soon). I'm so excited and grateful for that opportunity, and I can't imagine if I had missed out on that.

Thank you Michael and Taxi, for another fantastic Rally, and my best rally yet!

More thank yous and notes to come soon when I have a chance to be at a computer again!

NOW I can put the username to the face!

That was quite the trek you had going on. I believe now you can teach the panel next year called "Not even a hurricane should keep ANY Taxi member away from the Rally"

Awesome news about the composer signing...it just makes the trip THAT much better.

It was great swapping stories of music, life, and favorite types of beers!

Wishing you the best!

Hey Juliet, so great to see you again. I wish we could have had a bit more time, but I'm so glad you were able to make it despite the hurricane! There was a lot of hot air going around at the Rally but not as much as a hurricane, thankfully! :o ;) 8-)

Cheers!

Juliet,

Good to get to know you better this year.

Congrats on "inking the deal"

I hope my hoarse voice at Sunday's dinner didn't "creep you out".

I realized later that I probably sounded like someone from another planet :D

Great to catch up with you Juliet and congrats on the well-deserved inking (and I don't mean henna)!
