Return for Y101117WO

Post by Casey H » Fri Dec 17, 2010 6:50 pm

I was surprised and disappointed that my track got returned for this listing. It has been forwarded for almost every similar listing, some of which were not accepting as broad of a range as this one. The "music" box was checked.

All live instruments too...

www.taxi.com/caseyh ... The Foreign Sun (Instrumental)

Y101117WO
WELL-PRODUCED, WORLD MUSIC INSTRUMENTALS and SONGS with VOCALS in a variety of styles from AFRO-POP (Fela Kuti, Amadou & Miriam) to CUBAN (Buena Vista Social Club) to BRAZILIAN (Astrud Gilberto) to MIDDLE EASTERN, CELTIC and BULGARIAN CHOIR wanted by global TV/Film Publisher servicing a broad spectrum of media including TV, film, games, advertising and trailers. Publisher is looking for both indigenous-sounding recordings that are true to the genre as well as world hybrids incorporating elements of western rock and pop. We know this is a very broad listing. The important thing to note is that your music should have a distinctive ethnic flavor reminiscent of a particular country and that the production should be professional, elegant and warm and feature real or real-sounding instruments. All moods welcome from high-energy, percussive grooves to down tempo chillout so long as there is a distinctive, dominant world flavor. (Electronica with a touch of Oud is not World enough!) If you are including vocals, they should support the ethnic aspects of the track and be in the appropriate language. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). You must own both song and master recording. Submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics when appropriate (English translations, please). All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Wednesday, November 17, 2010. TAXI #Y101117WO

Hi Casey,

Nice track! I find that a little interesting too. Usually for these y/n listings you'll at least get a short reason for a return. Did the reviewer give you any hint?

Best,

Vince

wow, this is a surprising return... might be worth following up to see if it the wrong box was checked by mistake.
