"Spot on Lyrics" returned By #326

Screener #326 listing D101206AR

"You totally wrote this track for this listing, didn't you! The lyrics are too spot-on. Unfortunately, the music is a little too classic rock ballad and not alternative, textural enough. But very good effort. "

In reading the listing I saw lots of things including: This is NOT film score nor is the producer looking for traditional, straight-forward rock, folk, country songs or ballads. Indie-style songs with loads of unique texture, intelligent but somewhat obtuse lyrics and an artsy, thoughtful tone that resonates with viewers are best suited. MOODY, ATMOSPHERIC, LYRICALLY-SPECIFIC ALT ROCK SONG with VOCALS ....

I guess it wasn't alt rock enough. But to answer your question.... Yes I did write this specifically for that ending movie scene described in the listing. Quite a few people that read the listing and heard the song also said "spot on" it should do well.....

What I get from this is "The lyrics are too spot-on." is a reason for the return.
They ask for "intelligent but somewhat obtuse lyrics", obtuse being the opposite of "spot on".

I took it to mean just the opposite... "You totally wrote this track for this listing, didn't you! The lyrics are too spot-on. ...... to be a coincidence, lyrics from another song written previously about some other subject and fitting this to a "T".

Because then in the next line they speak about the style.... Unfortunately, the music is a little too classic rock ballad and not alternative, textural enough.

at least that's how I understood it to be
