A nice way to start 2011, just got two pieces signed to an Exclusive East Coast Library.
Two part story here, so pour yourself a cup of coffee..
First the inspiration part...
The two tunes that got signed were inspired by two forum members. The First tune Nita's Way was written for my dear friend Squids. It was the week between Christmas and New Year two years ago, I was reading on her web page about the incredible things that Nita had gone through, cancer survivor, Hurricane Katrina etc. so it inspired me to write Nita's Way.
The second tune is Chillin, ( formerly named Thanks Dave ) about a year or so ago I was working on an uptempo piano trio piece for a listing, and Dave Walton in true forum fashion offered advice and counsel and was just very helpful.
There was a listing a short while back for Jazz Trio tunes- well, one thing led to another and I had a unrelenting travel schedule and I missed the deadline. I figured it was this library so I e-mailed him and asked if that was his listing and was he still in need of Jazz Trio tunes... he was so I submitted directly to him and like I said a great way to start the new year...
