ANYWAY, I got my 4th quarter statement yesterday from one of my publishers (the results of a TAXI forward...Thank you, TAXI), and for the first time ever it contained not only sync fees but $5.98 worth of performance royalties.
The total check is for a little more than $100. Who CARES?? If it were for $5.98, I would still be jumping up and down. I would still make a color copy of it and put it in a frame before I cash the real one. It's not about the money, it's about making a step forward.Because of the amazing job TAXI does (AND because my songs didn't suck), I am about to be paid real money for music that I wrote. That's...that's...that's going to make me tear up.
They don't call that "having a Ted moment" for nothing. Ha!Thanks to all of you who make this one of the best sites on the web, and thanks, again, to Michael Laskow and to the entire TAXI crew. This never would've happened without you.
